The St. Clair Recreation Centre picked up Gemma in October 2011 from a TAFE SA placement program. During her time on placement it became crystal clear to management and staff that this was one potential employee we couldn’t let get away. Gemma has since demonstrated a strong work ethic and dedication to quality customer service, and proved to be a key staff member of our team.
From starting out in customer service, Gemma has moved seamlessly into other areas of the business. She now continues to work as a part of our skate crew and also picks up the dreaded Sunday morning shift on most weekends.
Gemma’s interest in Event Management has also lead to her providing vital assistance to the Manager with major activities within the Centre. Some of these include the Indian Swarnim Festival, the Vietnamese Full Moon Festival, the Antique Bottle Collectors Meet and our own Super Skate. Gemma juggles all this while studying at University and also working in Victor Harbor.
Reinforcing Gemma’s contribution was this feedback from one of her peers; “Team Player. Goes out of her way to help. Organizes events successfully with many different types of groups.” There is no doubt that Gemma’s work is appreciated amongst the team and she is highly valued by all the staff at St Clair. Congratulations Gemma!
